~* Anyone know or had Novasure done? Help please*~

I went to a pre op visit to get novasure done. The links are under here. I have the surgery sceduled for the 30th because my periods are clotty and so heavy and sometimes last a very long time since 1998. My doctor seen me through all of this and thinks its time to do something other that birth control because of the list of cancer in my family. Has anyone heard or been through this.... Info please. Hi Melissa: I attempted to have the Novasure procedure done. However, it did not work for me because of the size of my uterus. I had an enlarged uterus due to Fibroids. I just had a partial hystorectomy in June of this yr. Best thing I could have ever done. I have had no pain and no period since. Thank God for his blessings. The Novasure procedure is supposed to remove the lining of your uterus. This would cut down on the heavy bleeding and in some cases may stop your period completely. I had a friend that had this done last year---it was followed up by a hysterectomy about 9 mths later--for some people it works--for others the bleeding returns ---Its a personal decision---I had another friend who just opted for the hysterectomy instead of this procedure--so its a very personal choice! I have not had this done but my best friend had it done Dec. Of 05. Unfortunately it did not work for her and she had to have a hysterectomy earlier this month. I don't know what the difference in her condition and your is so just like with gbs I think every situation is different. Good luck! Tammy

I had this procedure done 10-31-06 and have not had a period since then. So far so good. Best wishes.
