Seriously now... I need to know the truth...
I cant honestly say I would do it again. I have had so many problems, but most of mine were due to my original surgeon. In the first 3 months, I almost died. I wished I was dead. I have had 3 different hernia surgeries to repair over 9 hernias. I have had other surgeries as well. All I can say is do your research. Make sure you research your choice of surgeon. If you have doubts at all, move on. And for goodness sakes.... ask questions!!! The only stupid question, is the one you dont ask. Make sure you understand the lifetime commitment you are making and all the possible complications. This isnt a walk in the park and it isnt a miricle cure. You have to do your part. This is a TOOL and you have to learn to use that tool to work for you. Some people have no problems whatsoever, and others do. Good luck!!

I am 16 months out. I have been very, very sick. The whole time. I went from 260 down to 88 then got back up to 92 at the doctors yesterday. When I am feeling bad I say no I wouldn't do it again. But when I feel (when I ever do) I think it is the best thing in the world that I did. I guess I flip flop on this one. It has it's goods and bads. I look good but feel bad......God will take care of me.
god bless

In my professional and personal life Ive had the opportunity to ask well over a hundred people about their surgery. Ive only met one person who said they wouldnt do it again if given the chance. This person admitted in subsequent conversations that he would probably already be dead if not for the surgery.
Everybody else, including several with more than a few complications have said they would do it again in a heartbeat.
Cathy, I am less than a month out. So I am kind of a newbee. But I still am glad I had this done. I have encountered mild problems.(I.E. Constipation, inability to tolerate protien shakes, ect.) but these are very minor. I am off my reflux meds' and my diabetic meds. Yay ! I am very weak and I was told by my Dr. That this could continue for up to 6 months. I hope not at least not to the extent I am now. But I will survive. I have lost over 40 lbs since oct. 25th. So in that since it is great. Please be sure this is what you want. And you are willing to sacrifice all the enjoyment you got out of food at least for a while. I can honestly say I have mourned food and the pleasure of sitting down mindlessly shoveling food in my face. It is amazing how much attention you have to pay when eating (how much you chew, how slowly you eat and most important paying attention to when you are full.) believe me you only have to overfill your pouch once to remember what that felt like. This is all things I have encountered. I am glad I had it done but I have alot to learn. Good luck to you tammy
Two years out next month on the 13th, would do it all over in a heartbeat! I love the chance it gave me to change my bad eating habits into good ones, wearing smaller clothes, not taking the handful of medicines every morning that I used to, feeling good and being able to do so much more in my daily life plus lots more energy!
Wishing you the best,
Emily
