Really Bummed out

I was so excited. I had my thyroid test...turned out good. Had my gallbladder ultrasound...turned out good. Supposed to have my bone density test next tuesday...All these ordered by my pcp. Went ahead and mailed in my packet to the bariatric center so they would have my part when my pcp faxed them all the test results. Got a call from them letting me know they had received my packet but they need $250 before they can process my paperwork. I asked would medicaid not pay for that...was told no. Said they would hold my paperwor****il I got the money. I have been applied for disability for over three years....waiting for a hearing date to be set. I have no income...which means no processing fee. Looks like it will be a longer journey then I thought. I need your prayers that God will make a way for me to have this surgery. My daughter turns 16 monday and I'd like to be around to see her have many more. Please send up some prayers for me....Thanks.....Patsy

Hello Patsy, I will be praying for you that God will make away, for you to get the money you need. I know some doctors will work with you on your app. fee. Bariatric specialists of North Carolina is one. Their number is 919-340-0000.

You will definitely be in my prayers! Hang in there, it will happen! I was very surprised to see how much out of pocket cost is involved. Would they be willing to work out a payment plan with you?

Not sure if this is an option... but a lot of Drs do not charge "center fees". When I first started looking into WLS a few places I called had a fee... but my surgeon did not good luck to you!

Thanks for the info.....right now I feel like anything is an option. I have to find one that will take medicaid.....kind of narrows the field......Patsy

Thanks so much. Raymond G. Washington, M.D. at FirstHealth Bariatric Center in Pinehurst. It just looks like everything is working against me. My car just died on me and the mechanic says motor problems deep in the motor. The car just isn't worth fixing. Right now the money for this surgery is more important to me than getting another car. I can find someway to get around but I need this surgery to live a long healthy life. I know things will work out somehow.
