Earth Fare support group
Sorry you were not impressed the last time you went to an Earthfare meeting! However, I along with the others enjoy our group. One thing about our group, is that we focus on personal things that we go through with WLS.... We usually do not have a planned topic.... we leave that to other group meetings. Our group is open to everyone who just wants to share what is going on in their lives... and wants someome to listen... we as a group do that. WLS brings about many changes... and each person goes through different things.... we are a group that has become great friends, we offer support and encourage each other. New visitors are always welcomed..... Our meeting tonight will focus on what we as a group, want to acheive for 2007..... it will be somewhat of a different meeting! Mike
Jennifer, please try the Earth Fare group again. I know the first time I attended a meeting I wasn't sure if it was the group for me. But, I kept attending and I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I found there. I have also learned so much from everyone in the group. The meeting is tonight at 6:30 pm at the Earth Fare in Charlotte. Hope to see you there. Pam S.
The Earth Fare meeting last night was awesome. I hope you try it again, Jen!
Also, everyone remember the SEB meeting is Monday night at the Coldwell Center. And, don't forget the Mercy and Presby groups and others. Every group seems to have a different flavor, and we all learn so much from each other.
Don't forget the NCSCWLS Christmas Party which will be at my house on Dec. 3rd. I am excited about that! If you need directions, you can write to me at [email protected].
Thanks for posting about the group. You will never find a better group of friends than at Earth Fare on the 1st Tuesday at 6:30. Also, check out their yahoo group NCSCWLS. It is awesome. So much support and understanding!

What is SEB and NSCWLS?? I dont think Ive heard of either... I would love to come to the Xmas part... this is the first Ive heard about it!
I was planning on going to the meeting last night... and completely forgot about it until 7pm!! I think the first one I went to wasnt that great because we listened to that seminar or whatever the whole time!!!! It was last month so I am sure you know what I am talking about
SEB is short for Southeast Bariatrics.... Dr. V's office. NCSCWLS is an online yahoo group made up of people from the areas of Charlotte, Gastonia, Matthews, Kings Mountain, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and Lancaster... anyone in these areas is welcomed to join... reguardless of who their surgeon was or where they had wls... and pre-ops are welcomed as well.... Beginning in January 2007, the Earthfare meetings will be on the 3rd. Tuesday of each month at 6:30. Thses meetings will mostly be sharing meetings for pre-ops and post-ops to talk about things they face daily with wls.... once in a while we will have a guest speaker. The friendships that have been made through Earthfare meetings and NCSCWLS are wonderful.... the members really understand, share and support each other.... It seems this entire area is blessed with several great support groups... and that is awesome... We all need support.... that makes us more accountable and keeps us focused. Mike
SEB is Southeast Bariatrics. Our support group meeting is open to everyone. We meet Monday the 13th at 6:30 at the Coldwell Center, across from Queens College, behind Myers Park Baptist Church, on Selwyn Avenue. I am the support group coordinator for SEB, and I personally want to invite you. People from all surgeons are welcome and participate. If you want more information, check out www.southeastbariatrics.com. You will see our staff and many of their before and afters.
NCSCWLS is the name of an online group on yahoo. Go to yahoo, groups, and type in NCSCWLS to find our group. This is not a group of SEB, but it is the group of the meeting at Earth Fare. This group was begun by a core of people four years ago who had different surgeons, different procedures, and it is a wonderful, sharing group.
Thanks,
Jennifer
