UHC anyone???

How long did it take to get an approval after it was called in? I'm finally getting close and I'm just obsessed at this point!!! I'm looking forward to posting with ya'll! My name is Beth and Dr. Voellinger in Charlotte is doing my RNY

Hi Beth My name is Charlene and I am a patient of Dr. Voellinger too. I also have UHC My info was turned in on Thurs and I found out on Tuesday that I was approved. Others have found out sooner they are pretty quick.

Wow!!! That was quick! Kim told me they can take up to 3 weeks How much do you love Dr. V!!! He is so awesome and so is his staff. Were you at his September support group? You look familiar, we may have talked after the group. I remember someone was getting their surgery in October, was that you? I wish Kim was in, she's out until Monday, maybe I'll call and bug Dawn, I'm sure they are sick of me LOL! Thank you so much for responding! How are you feeling?

I bugged UHC I called the care coordination department everyday DR. V is the best,I havent been to a support group in awhile I work evenings., I did have my surgery 10/2. I am doing great no buyers remorse yet trying to get in protein, water and vitamins Are you nervous yet?

Nope, not nervous yet, just impatient! I'm definitely going to have a hard time dealing after though. I love food so much, thank God for the support groups and boards like this! Ok so get this, I called UHC yesterday and they told me that the doctor had to call them, and not me? It seemed weird, maybe I'll try again today. Maybe I called the wrong department, I'll try the care coordination department.

ask for care coordination dept, customer service dept. is a joke they dont know anything. You will do find just surround yourself with positive people who support you. When do you plan on having your surgery? What type? I had the DS loving it. charlene

OMG! OMG! OMG! I'm so glad I talked to you!!!! I just called them and I was APPROVED!!!! They mailed the approval out yesterday! I'm on hold at Dr. V's right now!!!! I'm shaking, I'm so happy! I'm hoping to have the surgery by the end of this month or early December depending on how far out he is booked. How long did it take you to get your date after you were approved? OMG, I'm so happy! I called my mom up hysterically crying! Yup, I peeked at your profile and saw you had the switch! I bet you're loving it! I'm having RNY. I was torn between the two, but decided on the RNY in the long run. I guess I better get a profile going and some pics up :D

Thank you I'm so excited! I can't stand it. I left a message for Dawn to see if she can check how far out they are. I know I need to have enough time to do my 2 weeks of liquids! Maybe I'll start tomorrow, so I can be prepared (yeah right, I've been saying that for a week LOL) I hope I can get in at the end of this month or the first week in December.
