plastic surgery question
I see you're a patient of Dr. Fuzz'. Did you miss the Support Meeting when Dr. Andy Schneider (from WS) was there and showed several different options for plastics for gastric bypass patients? He seemed really knowledgeable and several people acted like he's not as expensive as some of the others out there. His practice name is Forsyth Plastic Surgery - 765-8620. Also, Butch had the tummy thing done back in July with a Greensboro doctor and I think he's done really well. I don't know all that much about plastics, as I have just finally gotten approved for my gastric bypass! My surgery date will be Dec. 11th! I started this process way back in January and have attended all of Fuzz' support meetings (except 1). I was denied by BCBS TWICE before I finally got approval just last week!
Good luck with your doctor search - and also, you've been a great inspiration to me, too!

Hey Susan!
I know that Clytie R. had her first round of plastic surgery done here in Gastonia about one month ago and did very well. She is going back, I think tomorrow, for her last surgery. You may want to emai her and ask her about her doctor and see if it is the same doctor you saw. I have not seen her since her surgery, but Rita H. said she looked great!
I am wanting to check into plastics myself...hoping to get some insurance approvals, I have now lost 163 pounds and weigh 157 at 5'8". I think I probally have 10-15 pounds, at least of loose skin.
I wish you the best!
God Bless!
Nancy

Hey Susan,
Dr. Schneider was EXCELLENT at the support group meeting for Dr. Fuzz. We all left there ready to have it all done the next morning! He welcomed us all to call him if we wanted further information. He gives you the estimated costs and the names/descriptions of all the different procedures he performs. He stressed very heartily that whatever surgeon you choose, make sure he is surgical board certified for plastic surgery. Dr. Schnieder was even featured on a television show with a lady who lost alot of weight and had plastic surgery. He said he got tons of business after that even from out-of-state. He has a very efficient turnaround time for appointments and actual procedures. He seemed to really know the ins-and-outs of insurance companies, and I felt he worked with everyone on an extremely individual basis for your specific needs and requests.
Good luck with this next step in your journey! You look beautiful!!
