Hello, I had RNY surgery on 10/10. Fortunately I have not had any pain or any complications. However, I am concerned with the amount of food I can eat. What is the normal diet or normal amount of food for a patient two weeks out of surgery? Any help will be appreciated!! Kelli

The first two weeks for me was a liquid diet... then soft foods from week 3-6. For the soft foods my portions were to be 1/4 cup per meal (600-800 calories a day). One I moved to "normal" foods its about 1/2cup meals (800-1000 calories a day). Keep in mind if you are eating liquidy foods you will be able to eat more than if they are solid. My NUT said for the first month-two months you want to measure so you make sure you are eating enough. Also at this early out you want to measure because you are still healing and dont want to do any damage.
