Durham Memorial Hospital??

Anyone have WLS there? A friend at works daughter had surgery there and I was just wondering about the place. Thanks Jen

I have not had WLS anywhere! LOL But I have had surgery done at Durham Memorial. I believe it used to be called Durham Regional and it is a longggggggggggg drive. But the hospital is good and I have heard that they have gotten much better. Hope that helps.

Jen-It's actually called Durham Regional Hospital and is part of the massive Duke system. The Duke WLS is considered a "Center of Excellence" for bariatric surgery and has a great reputation. I've completed all of my preliminary tests/appts and hope to have surgery sometime in the next few months. I know several people who have gone through this program and have done very well. I had surgery through Duke WLS. My operation was performed there. Great place. They took wonderful care of me. I was able to do many things on my own...washing and personal care so I did not rely upon them. Yet, when I did need something, I had all the aid I needed. Wish you well Nia
