Hi, i posted probably a year or so ago, and never made it back to see the responses, and i am sure the post has been buried by the many posts made since.. I am uninsured, and unqualified for medicare/caid which ever it is, but working a job for minimum wage, and a good candidate for bariatric surgery. at least 200 lbs overweight. I can't find any place near by that will even talk to me about it, based on the uninsured part. Several of my customers have mentioned "friends" who have had bariatric procedures done, while uninsured, with help from "a foundation down in charlotte" Does anyone know what they are talking about? I would love to talk to someone about getting my life back on track and myself healthy, and not worry about not being taken seriously because i don't have insurance

Hi I dont know where exactly you are but look up in the phone book if you got VOCCATIONAL REHABILITATION where you at. Im in Wilmington, NC and they would of helped me. But i found a Doctor who is taking my insurance so i did not have to go with them. Find out if you do, gather your bills, income, etc etc and knock on they door. God Bless Sabine

I've never heard of a foundation in Charlotte. I could be there, but I've never heard of one. I know people write about vocational rehab, I don't know about that either. Send an email to one of the dr's office and ask if they know of anything. It cannot hurt to ask. I don't know what the options for you are, but i know some people on here have financed with credit companies. Could you possible get a job with better benefits? I know easier said then done. Good Luck. JEnnifer

Hi, Try the NC VOCATIONAL REHAB in your area. That is what I did. I got denied the first time but I put in for a appeal and got approval. I would like to have my surgery a THE DUKE WEIGHT LOSS CLINIC and have already had all my pre op test done that they require. PLEASE feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I would be more than happy to help you, because there are alot of things that you are going to need for your appts you may have with VOC REHAB. Stephanie
