birth control after wls???
i know after wls, that birth control pills might not be absorbed into the system as it should. what kind of birth control is best to use, not only to prevent but for light or shorter periods?? my periods were very heavy before i went on the pill... and i worry about them going back after the surgery.....
I'm taking the depo shot right now...it took a some tiem to get use to. I did have some side effects like break through bleeding. And after a few weeks it passed . But like you I was having very, very heavy periods and I had to besure that i take my iron and calicum tabs daily.
The best thing about the shot is that you have to only take the shot every 12 weeks and that worked out very well for me. I hope that this info was some help for you. Have a good evening.
I was on the depo shot for 6 months after surgery and STAYED on my period the WHOLE time.....ugh!!! It was awful! That is a possible side effect though. I had always had 3 day, light period but man did it come one like a vengence! I tried giving my body time to adjust, but it just never happened! I am on the patch now and not thrilled with it. My periods still last over a week and are much heavier. I have only been on it not quite two months so I am giving it some time. Next step...snip snip for hubby!!!
I was on the depo shot... I have been on for 2 years so I am getting off and switching to oral BC because of the increased risk of osteoporsis at this point. I spoke to my surgeon and OBGYN... surgeon said oral BC is fine - if you take how you are suppose to you wont have issues.... OBGYN said if you wanted to be xtra careful use the depo shot or the NuvaRing.
