Surgeon Quit!?
Hi Angie, I know how frustrated you must feel. I was scheduled Oct.4th for surgery with Dr. Brady Way at Carteret General Hospital and the hospital pulled the rug out the week before and said no more Bariatric surg. done at the hospital. I have been through all my preop testing and did not find out until Sun. nite before surg. on Wed. Needless to say I was devastated. There were about between 30 and 40 pts. I understand that were on the books to have this surg. done. I am a self pay patient so I am looking another good surgeon to have this done. I chose Dr. Way not only because I liked him and his coordinator, Rhonda but the fact it was close and reasonably priced for my budget. If anyone can help me find another reasonably priced good surgeon that is fairly local, I would appreciate it. Thanks and good luck to you Angie. Karen
Angie,
If you want the best - Dr. Roc Bauman at Carolina Weight Loss Surgery is the best. Check out his stats. I am 3 weeks post op and am doing wonderfully. I am a nurse and was very impressed with his credentials. (I have seen the good, bad and the ugly of these surgeries). He has been doing this for 6 years. That is all he does. He has done over 1000 surgeries. He has not yet lost a patient. His complication percentage last I checked was 2.2%. He requires a disciplined patient, but it is well worth it. The support system his office provides is exceptional. (www.carolinaweightsurgery.com) This is his website. You fill out a form and they e-mail you back. I was e-mailed back the very next day. I began this in May and had my surgery on September 20th . . .I came home on September 22nd. He does require out of town people to stay around Concord for a little longer incase something should happen.
Good luck.
