I'M NEW AND NEED SOME HELP!

Hi everyone I am a newby. I am pre surgery and dr carl lowe is going to be my surgeon. I have had all my pre-test (psych eval. Nutrition consult all went well, I have my 5 years of weights which I could give them 35 years .) the last thing I had done was my labs and ekg. This I thought was just something that I had to do no problem!! wrong!!!! My ekg came back abnormal . I can't believe it I have had 2 other ekg's in my life and they were fine now is not the time for this to happen. The Dr. Says I have an elongated qt. Has anyone ever heard of or had this. If so what did they do about it I have an appointment with a cardiologist on 9/22 but I am very impatient. I don't have to have my ekg sent in with my other stuff to get surgery approval so I think I will send all the other things in so I can get approval under way I have bcbs I was told by dr lowe's office they are pretty quick to give an answer. I have a very high bmi and diabetes, I have had back surgery, now this heart thing might push me through. Although I have been told that this qt syndrome has nothing to do with my weight, I can't believe my weight is good for this condition. Thanks in advance for any help.
