Any NC Lapbanders here?

I dont usually frequent this board (I am on a lapband specific board), but I wanted to see if there were any NC lapbanders that were on here. I am in CLT.

Hey- I am not a lapbander yet, but am working on it. I am in CLT also. I went to the seminar with CMC Mercy and found out that they haven't actually done lapbands yet from another doctor's office. I am now persuing a lapband with Dr Voellinger. Who is your doctor? Did you like him/her?

Hi I have the Lap-band, but Im originally from NY, thats where I got my surgery. I am finding it to be difficult to find a new doctor here, first my new insurance (Medcost) says it doesnt cover bariatric surgery of anykind, but I already have the band so I dont know if they are going to cover follow-up care. Im in the triangle so Im trying to get in with Duke University's WLS center, I sent them my file from the old doctor and they have to review it and "decide" if they want me as a patient. Another surgeons office told me the same, plus they both want a $500 transfer fee, regardless of insurance, that doesnt seem normal. Im just praying that my insurance will pay for the fills etc. I didnt know that it would be so difficult with insurance or I would not have moved. I called a few insurances down here and first of all self pay is so expensive bc I have the band, then some wouldnt pay for it unless I had the band for 4 years and my weight had stabalized. I cant beleive this, well my husbands job had this Medcost. So we shall see. Erica

I go to Dr Bauman in Concord. I *think* he accepts other patients. I have heard that he will do fills for those banded in Mexico. I had my band in on 8-15. and like Kim said, I only "lurk here" There are not very many bandsters out here. I am on lapbandtalk.com mostly.

What is the lapband specific you are on?

Im in the process of getting my band done. I have one apt left, and another I have to go back to. I'm so excited. My Dr is Paul Enoch's based out of Cary and Louisburg for all those interested!
