3 month post-op

Hey Everybody!, Just wanted to say that I had my 3 month post-op today and have lost 80+ pounds since my surgery! I still have a looooong way to go...i started out at 430 and am still having a hard time believing this much weight has come off. I still wear the same clothes...they just hang loose and my rings will come flying off if I am not careful. It is a great feeling but I think the biggest thing I have trouble with (besides getting enough exercise and total protein) is the attention people pay to you when they find out you have had the surgery. It is almost like they are expecting you to be super skinny in a month and just do not realize I had stomach surgery and not a tummy tuck! I am also realizing (like I told my nutritionist) that my mouth is still as big as it ever was....so that is what got me in some of my trouble to begin with...you got to slow down and eat small and sloooooow. If anyone can share some exercise tips...send them my way! Have a great evening!

You have done so good. That is alot of weight in 3 months. Keep up the good work. You will be skinny before you know it. Just take your time. It will happen. God bless. Amy

I'm a firm believer in walking...I was walking the day after I got out of the hospital and walked 3/4 mile...veryvery slowly, but still walking. Now I walk 3-1/2 miles a day in just under an hour. I also do yoga 3 days a week and Jazzercise 3 days a week, but I didn't start Jazzercise til I was 4 months out and yoga just last month. You can DVR/TiVo the yoga from the Fit channel on TV and do it at home. Pam 5'2" 282/152/145

Have you tried a Gazelle machine? I have one and have used it (although not faithfully), but it is easy to use and works your arms and your legs. I ordered mine off of an infomercial but you can find them on e-bay and some department stores. I like it and it is a good way to stretch and/or exercise without feeling like you're killing yourself afterwards. Congrats on your weight loss! Dena
