Need Help...medicare and medicaid

Hello all. I am very new to this and am trying to find a doctor in raleigh or eastern nc that accepts medicare and medicaid. Dr. Malik in Rocky Mount accepts it, but they told me I would have to pay the cost of the surgery up front and then be reimbursed. I need this surgery, and I am frustrated with trying to find a doctor. Also, does anyone know how hard it is to be approved for the surgery if you have medicare and medicaid. I am on the schedule for an educational seminar with a Dr. in Fayetville, but I was just hoping to find something closer...either in Greenville or Raleigh or in between. Thanks for any help you can give me!

by the way.... i was looking at your profile and i noticed your bmi as 28. with that bmi, medicaid will not approve surgery. is it a typo? adrienne

Adrienne we have not changed anything since you had surgery...we still do accept medicaid and go by the same guide lines as before...but the problem with the insurance for Jason is he has Medicare as well...That is where it is a little different than it was with you. HI there. Angela D. here. I know exactly how you feel. I went thru that same thing too. I live in the Greenville area but I am having my surgery in Pinehurst(Moore Co.). I am on Medicaid. There are a few doctors in Greenville that accept Medicaid but there are quite a few things that Medicaid needs to pay for the surgery. I have family in Sanford. That is why I am having it there. If you ask the right questions and do the right things, Medicaid will pay almost all of it. I will be glad to help you if you would like. My email address is [email protected].
