Appeals Process

Has anyone ever been denied by BCBS and if so how long did it take for you to hear from your appeal letter? Any information would be helpful. Thanks! Christina

Hi Christina: I am 3 1/2 months post op and I have BCBSNC. I was denied my first try! If you read my profile it should be of some help to you with your appeal process. Good Luck and do not give up!! Donna

I was denied twice and approved on external review. My first appeal they took 30 days to respond - they have 30-45 I believe. My 2nd appeal they took 3 weeks to deny... when I appealed that I got my external review scheduled another 3 weeks away. My info was submitted to BCBS the beginning of Jan and it took me until the end of the 2nd week of April to get my approval.
