I am still in the procedd of being apprved, but does anyone have anything that will help get me ready? I am so excited... I don't think that I can wait 3 more months.... I am also wondering about Medicaid paying for my Phsyc evaulation... Does anyone know if they will pay?

I started to exercise and watch what I ate prior to surgery... wanted to be as healthy as possible so I would have a smooth surgery and quick recovery!! I also started to collect recipies and put them all in a notebook along with the information from my surgeon and nut. I went thru the recipies and marked ones that looked good so post-op I would already have ideas during the different phases. I also got all the vitamins/suppliments I would need post-op and started taking them a month before surgery. I know people say tastes change after surgery but I figured they were vitamins and I would choke them down no matter what since they cost some $$!! I also bought a bunch of protein samples at Earthfare (its off johnston rd and 485 in south charlotte). They have a ton of brands and flavors - they run 1.50-2 each.... I will tell you I poured out about 5 shakes post-op cause they were NASTY!!! I went to walmart and bought a "personal blender" the magic bullet was too expensive for me. This was 18$ and you mix and drink out of the same cup... has been perfect for work!! Its powerful and good on crushing up ice and whatnot and has measurments on the side of the cup!!

hi cortney, hope you have a speedy approval process. why do you have to wait 3 months? i guess the only advice i can give you is to make sure all your ducks are in a row with paperwork and escpecially your six month supervised diet. everything needs to be documented or else medicais will sure enough deny you. im not trying to scare you but only tell you that medicaid is very picky. medicaid does not pay for the phsyc evaluation, but my surgeon recommended me to a phychologist that asked for 50 dollars for medicaid patients so that was a big blessing. if you are following every guideline to a T then you should be fine. Good Luck , adienne

50 for a psych eval is very cheap. I had to pay 260 out of pocket for mine.... Took her all of 15 minutes to tell me I was approved too....

Hi Courtney. Angela D. here from Winterville. I am on medicaid myself. I am having my surgery at Moore Co. (Pinehurst). I had all my pre-tests done and it looks like Medicaid paid for it. I just handed my medicaid paper to the psych. secretary. I was approved for the test. Next thing I have is an appt on the 22nd to meet my surgeon. I hope this helps. Angela D

Medicaid does pay for Phsyc evaluations, you just have to go to a certain type of doctor. I am not sure which one type maybe an actual pshychiatrist(sp) but they paid for mine (minus my co-pay). I only had to pay for the visit to the dietician(sp) and that was $40.00. Phenom
