Nc Medicaid (Has anyone been approved on NC Medicaid w/o 6 months dieting?
weightloss was talked about with my dr. for yrs but i was denied the first time around because i didnt have 6 consecutive months of supervised diet. i also have medicaid, and they are really picky when it comes to that. so i would try to get approved with what you have but visit your doctor today and start the supervised diet. i also backed it up with a visit to my dietician at the local hospital so i would not have any chance of denial a second time around. adrienne
I agree with Adrienne that Medicaid is EXTREMELY picky about the 6 month supervised diet.
Im sitting here looking at my rejection letter from Medicaid. I did the 6 month supervised diet but they still denied my claim saying that I hadnt lost any weight and therefor hadnt shown any initiative to do so basically. I was put on a high carb diet through my diabetes awareness classes. The main focus of their diet was getting control of my blood sugar and much less on losing weight and I only lost maybe 5 pounds.
Well their diet is out the window now. I started a liquid diet similar to the one my surgeon will put me on to lose weight to show that I have the motivation to do so.
Truthfully I think its just another hoop to jump through and one more attempt to get me to give up.
IMO you will never get approval without the 6 month supervised diet and in reality if you dont follow it to the letter you might not get it then.
