My surgery is scheduled for 11am!
Good morning my NC Family,
I just received a call from my doctor's office and my surgery is scheduled for 11:00am on the 21st. I am so happy everything seems to be coming together and soon very soon I will be on the loser's side.
I want to thank all of you for your kind words and prayers it has meant so much to me, dont forget to sign my surgery page.
Today is the first day of my liquid diet and I know my fellow family members can help me with some ideas for some tasteful meals!!

Congratulations on the date. I remember how excited I was when that call came in.
While I was in the hospital with my last round of surgeries there was a girl in the next bed pre-op who was a patient of Dr. Kuwada (sp). There was only a curtain between us but I could hear her talking to the nurse.
The one thing that girl said that I wanted to comment to but refrained because it really was none of my business was she didn't stick to her two week pre-op diet. I wanted to blow a gasket. This is one of my pet peeves, so please forgive me if I step on some toes.
If someone is going to have this surgery and it is a major surgery then they should take the surgeon's advise and do all they can to make this successful. I had to do the two week diet during Christmas. It was tough, but I stuck with it. This was my way of showing myself that I was serious about this. Afterwards you won't be able to cheat for a while because of the surgery, but a time will come when you can graze and eat just about anything you want. If good habits aren't learned then the weight will come back.
I'm so sorry for dumping that in this post, but sometimes people just get to me. I know that you will be successful and will have a great weight loss.
One thing to remember is that although you will be doing liquids for two weeks that doesn't mean you have to cut out spices! Spice up your soups etc with garlic, pepper, whatever you like to make it more appetizing. Also, SF popsicles are considered liquid. Keep up the good work and keep your eyes on the prize!!!!!!

Congratulations on your surgery date! It makes it seem so much more "real", having a date...My surgeon requires a "cabbage soup diet" that really cleans you out...it was basically a soup of stewed cabbage, tomatoes, onions and green peppers... but you should follow your doctors instructions...
When I was on clear liquids after my surgey I had beef bouillon and sugar free jello the most...
Take care,
