Hi everyone, Well, Allison's (my youngest daughter) surgery went very well. Untill Friday when she got up and had the worst headache. We came to find out that she had what is called a dura leak (a leak in her spinal fluid from the surgery). We have been in the hospital since Thursday but will hopefully go home today. We are having to have a hospital bed delivered to the house because she has such severe head pain, dizziness and is so unsteady when she gets up that she can't get up the two flights of stairs in our home. SO we will be living in the den untill the leak heals itself. There is nothing that they can do to seal it, it just has to seal on it's own. But we are very thankful the surgery went well. We will know in a few weeks when the lead adheres to her spine how well the stimulator works. The trial seemed to give her good relief. THANK all of you for your good thoughts and prayers. I will post after we get home!!!!! Love to you all, Pat

Hello Pat, I am so sorry to hear about Allison's spinal headache. I had that happen to me during a milo gram ( sp??? ) ,,, they shot dye into my spine etc... and it started a leak, the headache was so bad, 10 times worst than the back surgery that followed 4 weeks later. The hospital ended up doing a " blood patch" OMG , it was terrible, so painful. Tell Allison to relax and rest as much as possible. You all are in out thoughts and prayers, and remember to call me if you need anything. Love ya, The other Allison

Pat My prayers are with you today. Hopefully you'll be at home soon! I too had to have a hospital bed at home, but for different reasons. All of this will help to make Allison a more determined person. People who have to live through adversity always come out being stronger people because of it. Time will heal all things. Larry

Sorry to hear about your daughter. She's very lucky to have such a great mom to take care of her. I have no experience here with spinal issues. Jennifer

Glad the surgery was a success but so sorry about the leak! At least it will heal itself and not require another surgery...She is lucky to have you..I hope there are friends and family who can help you and your daughter get through the next couple of weeks... Take care, Aramat
