I got my date...and other stuff
Hi everyone,
I'm terribly sorry to post so seldom, but the past few weeks have been really tough for me. I have had 2 dogs for more than 12 years. Zach, my chow mix and the closest thing to a soul mate that I'll ever have, passed away suddenly in February. Then, my shepherd mix, Belle, started having trouble breathing about a month ago. It got gradually worse and worse...I had to hand feed her and help her drink water for the past 2 weeks. She passed away this past Saturday. Without the 2 of them, I feel so alone. They saw me through so much in my life. So, I've been pretty devastated through most of my WLS process. That's mostly why I haven't been able to contribute as much as I would have liked, and I hope you guys can forgive me for that.
So...some of you may remember that I got notification of my approval on July 14. I received the letter on July 24...my 40th birthday, which I had been excited about, but I have to say turned out to be the saddest ever. I took the letter up to the hospital on Tuesday, and they just called me today...my date is August 9...next Wednesday! I can't believe it's so soon. I'm so excited, nervous, everything you can imagine. Dr. Pender doesn't require a liquid diet, just a light meal the night before surgery. I have a pre-op appointment at 9am on Monday. It all seems so unreal.
Thanks so much for reading my post. Have a great week!
Lisa
HI Lisa, Angela D. here from Winterville. CONGRATS on the good news. I am hoping I get good news like that really soon. I will be having my surgery in Moore Co(Pinehurst). I have talked to some people that say that it is usually required to do that liquid diet. I was told depending on the size of the liver. I was told by my gallbladder tech, she viewed my liver and said it was not enlarged. I hope my call comes w/a short notice to have surgery. Sorry about your pets but CONGRATS on the good news.
Keep you chin up.
Angela D.
