I are a Tarheel now...
(reposted from The Men's Room, and slightly edited)
Jane and I got ourselves moved; what an ordeal. The job took 2 days, because the movers didn't send a big enough truck on day 1 so we had to fetch the other load on Saturday.
Got the old place emptied out yesterday, and de-scummed it for the guy who's coming to professionally clean it Friday. It sucks to have to clean for the cleaner...
Ongoing (WOW)s for both of us are the amount of energy, muscle, and stamina we both put in, keeping up with the crew, and putting stuff away in general. It'll still take us at least a month to get rid of all the boxes.
For the moment, I'm incommunicado at home (no internet yet, only 1 land phone, and I'm in a major cell dead zone), so I'm posting this from work.
It was mondo cool to wake up this morning to pea soup fog and chirping crickets. Beats city noise all to h3ll...
Carry on.
Hi Bob,
Welcome to our Blue Heaven! They say that God is a Tarheel, that's why the sky is Carolina Blue. (Hope the Dookies and State Fans don't get upset!) Just kidding. I am a tarheel through and through. Welcome to our wonderful state, hope you'll love it here. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
