Approval Today... Surgery Aug. 7th! WOW.

Hello everyone. I am pretty new to this site and read alot but do not post to often. I just found out today that I have been approved for surgery and my dr. office called and asked if I wanted to have surgery 8/7. I almost fainted. This is all happening to quickly and I am excited and very nervous. I will have to start my liquid diet soon and am stressed! I have no clue on any protein shakes/supplements anything! Any help would greatly be appreciated. I will be having surgery at CMC Mercy and wondering if anyone else will be too? Thanks!! T

Congrats!!!! The best advice I can give is to seek out lots of info. Read many profiles. Try to find people who were close to your stats at the start and see how things went for them. You can never be to informed! Jen 243/152/143

Hi New Jen! You are my new role model! I am at almost exactly where you started from (I am at 238). I have had my psyc exam, have all my paperwork ready and go for my educational class on Aug. 1st (I am going to Frye Regional in Hickory). Hope I can become a "loser" before the end of '06. Hi T. Angela D. here from Winterville. CONGRATS on hearing the great news. I am in the same boat. I am waiting to hear the good news from Pinehurst. I was just wondering how long did you wait. Also, what kind of insurance do you have. I have medicaid. I was told approval could be as short as 10 days. I would love to have my surgery in the first part of Aug. Let me hear. Tina,Ihad mine there the 6th of June.I had an ok visit the Dr and the Nurses are great and Cathy Head came in.I am the nervous nelly type.They were so intentive to me.Scott the RN that works night is awesome.If you need company let me know I can come and sit with you.I had Dr Gersin but know Dr Kuwada and he is the best also.What they require you to eat is different but out comes at the same I believe.I think it is great service.Are you going to the support meeting this Tues at Presby.It really does help.Maybe we will see you therer.My name is Dee and my boyfriend Steve comes with me.Take care ,Dee

So you're the one who got my surgical date......LOL. I was approved on Thursday and they called me and asked if I wanted surgery on August 7. I was much like you, I almost fainted. Then they called me back to tell me that Dr. Kuwada was already booked so they gave me the next Monday. Have you been going to the support groups at Mercy on the 4th Tuesdays of the month? There's one this Tuesday and I'll be there. Have you met with the nutritionist yet? She's the one that gave me all the supplement information. I've got a whole book of that stuff. We talk about a lot of that stuff at the support group so if can come Tuesday night, please do. Its at 6PM in the auditorium. Robin

I just got approved today, Tina and will be having my surgery at CMC Mercy too, and Dr. Kuwada is doing my surgery, isn't that a coincidence!! Congrats and good luck to you!!
