Snake Bite

Hello, I live near the zoo and was bit by a copperhead Sunday. Poison control told me this has been a very bad year for snakebites. I just wanted to share this an warn all you NC folks that while you are out exercising, keep a watch out for the slithery critters out there! Shellie

OMG!! Are you Ok? Where did it bite you? I would have died from a heart attack if it had been me. We killed one last week, it was on our riding lawn mower, knowing it couldn't cut grass with it, thats one dead snake....came to the wrong yard. you take care, and be careful. Thanks for the warning Shellie, and believe me since I've read about your bite initially I've been looking in front...back...to the side... for those slithery ewwwwy critters!!! Shellie I hope the swelling goes down soon!!

YIKES --------- I hate snakes, I do not care if they " are our friends" I do not care if they eat rats and other bad critters, SNAKES are slimy Devils. To all animal lovers, I am sorry, snakes give me the chills , I was weeding my flower bed last year and a baby copperhead slivered out from under a rock, I almost had a heart attack. Hey, I was bitten by a copperhead when I was 3. I was taken to hospital and they gave me the meds just in case, but luckly the doctor said the snake must have just eaten because he didnt get much venom in me at all! I was sitting up in my bed coloring a coling book. My mom said she was so scared she was about to pass out from a panic attack! lol i'm glad I cant remember.They sent me home that same day/ Next morning I woke up and my feet , well toes look like my hands(huge) i was swollen really bad. My mom and dad rushed me back to hospital , they said I was ok and its normal and it will go down.they kept me a few hrs and sent me home. My mom said 2 weeks later we were at the harware store in our little town and a green snake was on the little step up concrete thing that you step up on to walk up to the door. She said I got down and got right in its face.............I'm still crazy but i dont mess with snakes no more! lol I have no mark on my ankle at all now. Lindsey

Shellie, So sorry to hear about your snakebite! Are you healing okay? I am allergic to horseserum that they used to give for snakebite (they may have other meds now...) so I will take your warning to heart... Get well soon! Aramat
