Hi. I was told I need another phych evaluation from one of there providers as they weren't satisfied with mine cause it was out of state and someone they dont know...kinda dissapointed in that cause its been months and im ready to get the show on the road, but its ok nice to know they are being careful unlike my previous surgeron who didn't even do blood work. ...was wondering if you would recommend any one dr/psych over another to schedule with? Im not into anyone that likes to linger in the past and crap like that...i like a focused directed toward the future type..

I used Dr. Quinn who was one that Dr B. recommended. You spend about 15 minutes (at the most) with him then he puts you in a room by yourself and you do a question/answer on the computer. I do not live in Concord nor Charlotte so I asked (its a two part) if it could be done at one time and he let me. His office number is...704-262-1800. Let them know you want it with Dr. Quinn and it is for Dr. B. He is near Dr. B and the hospital. Good Luck G.

I am telling you about my visit, he knew I was there for weight loss surgery and he did talk to me for a while and then I took the test on a computer in their office (and that did take a while). And it could be he made the appt in one visit instead of two, I don't really know. I would suggest you call Dr B and ask him why, I don't have an answer for you, other than what you stated before as to why. I was giving you a name and phone number to help you on your journey. Good Luck. G

I'm guessing that the psychologist they recommend is the one that Dr. Bauman KNOWS can determine if a patient is ready for WLS. I used the same group recommended by Dr. Roc and they were very good. I had no problem doing this as you don't go into this surgery lightly and one of the main reasons I went to Dr. Roc is the thorough checks and tests he puts us through. He leaves no stone unturned and because of that, he has excellent results. Trust me, you'll be glad when this is behind you! Lynne

Technically, Its not 15 min. Well, it kind of is. There are two visits you have to go to. The first one will be a talk about what and why you are doing what you are doing and then a 100 question true or false test. Dr Quinn goes over the results, but then you will have to go in for another true or false test to the tune of 560 something questions. The grammer and spelling on these tests are pitiful. However, they are standardized. Meaning that what ever result you end up with, they should fall in line with how you really are. It should find out if you are really ready for surgery. (if you have over reaching stress issues, if you are better equipt mentally to handle one WLS surgery versus the other, ect) Also, since it is standardized, insurance companies better "accept it" The total time I spent with Dr Quinn was about 15 min, the time to take the two tests.. 1 and 1/2 hrs.

I love the tests I think they are fun! I just wish someone would have told me 3 months ago to do this. They knew i had another dr and the one said it was fine even up to 2 weeks ago (had my first apt in april) then the nurse changed the plan so im just bumbed about having to wait longer but its ok Ive gotton about 10 pounds off and id like to get 10 more before surgery but i work better when i have a deadline
