I spoke with her last night , she lives in Flordia, she sounded great, like me her surgery was less than a hour, my question to all you post opers--- " How long did your surgery take " ? I know some folks are over for 3 plus hours, I do wonder why it is so different. Anyways--- Glenda , how are you feeling ? I hope you are taking good care of yourself and resting Weekend plans for me : since the DH is into the World Cup at the moment and England will be playing on Saturday,,, I am thinking about getting my hair trimmed, taking my German Shepherds to the groomers ( thank the Lord there is such a service for people like me ) .... maybe a movie or 3 ,,,, and just plain ol resting Love to you All Allison

I think it varies because of the anatomy encountered during surgery. If there is a lot of visceral fat deposits it takes time to navigate through the mess to get to the stomach. Also the liver is not normally soft and pliable like you would think (thats why many surgeons ask for the liquid diet, to soften the liver and reduce the amount of fat in the general area). Just a guess but I would expect men to be more difficult as men accumulate fat in the abdomen and women in the hips. Hopefully soon Ill be able to tell you how long my surgeon took. Right now Im still waiting on one last piece of paperwork. I also know that some surgeons (maybe more than just some) routinely inflate their surgery times in order to keep the family calm so they wont be calling every 10 minutes wanting an update.
