I had a colonoscopy and upper GI yestereday, and found out I have Crohn's Disease, a hyrnia, GERD (which I knew), something with my Esophagus (was too much for DH to take in and he can't remember everything they said...of course I was sooooo druged up I can't remember much). I'm soo scared this means no RNY for me. I'm very emotional of all this especially being I wasn't able to ask questions about Crohn's disease and now I'm sitting here trying to read what it is on the internet. I luv my DH but he is not the type of person to ask questions . I'm not having a good day at all, for one being diagnoised with all this stuff in one day and secondly not thinking that I will not be able to have RNY.... I had just started getting use to the idea that I would have the surgery once DH's insurance kicked in (since my insurance has a written exclusion).. I'm at wits end this morning, I doubt my life is ever going to get any better, seems like there is always something to keep me right were I am... I don't understand why this is happening!!! I'm sorry not asking for a pitty party, just wanting to know if anyone who has had RNY had Crohn's Disease or know of anyone that has it and has had surgery.

OK according to my release papers there was evidence of Colitis, according to DH, he doesn't know where I got the Crohn's Disease from all he heard was inflammation of the lining of the intestine..DH wasn't a lot of help we made the mistake and took our 4 year old who decided to show out while waiting for me to recover, so hubby was more focused on the 4 year old than what the Dr was saying

Gail, that's so true.... I did contact my GI Dr's office Monday, their stating the dr has not diagnoised me as of yet, he took biopsys(sp) which should take approximately 2 weeks to get back and when they come back if it is crohn's or collitis they would contact me at that time and possibly request I come in sooner than my 6 week follow up. So right now they are not officially saying I have either but are treating me for both (expensive medications I might add as well ) I'm now taking 8 pills in the morning and 7 pills in the afternoon.. in addition to the med's I was already taking NO MORE MED'S PLEASE.... So Gail I'll try to take your advise and wait this out and not panic!! I plan to continue on my WLS journey on faith and that God will work this out in whatever way is meant for me. (hopefully to have WLS)
