Consultation Today with Dr Malik

Hi everyone. I am new here to the OH. Have been visiting for a while. Have been in the researching stage and finally made the decision to go for it. I called Dr. Malik's office on Monday to schedule an appointment and believe it or not, I had an appointment today.I went and really liked him and Jennifer. Got a lot of questions answered. I got a list of what I had to get done and have an appointment on Friday for Labs and Xray and EKG. Have dietary consult next week and psych consult next week. Have to get EGD scheduled and then I will have it all completed. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take after that to get approval from insurance and surgery date.

Hey, congrats on the 1st step. Based on what I have seen on the boards and profiles BCBS seems to be good as long as you have done everything. Jennifer should be able to give you more info on it. Good luck on your Journey Phenom

hi angie, im glad your appt went well. im not sure about blue cross but from what jennifer says, its one of the best insurances to deal with on this process. when i got approved with my insurance i was scheduled for surgery 3 weeks later so it was very fast. i had a hard time containing myself. i wanted to shout out to the world. adrienne

Angie, congrats on taking the first step to a much happier and healthier life, Me adrienne and Phenon are all Dr Maliks patients and let me tell you he is a wonderful Dr with very graceful hands. As far as the insurance goes, that would be a question for Jennifer because it usually verys from person to person and insurance to insurance. Anyhow good luck on your journey and as long as you have Dr Malik you are in good hands !!

Congrats to you on taking that step!! I had surgery in January and have lost 82 pds and loving life. Dr Malik is the best even when he needs to yell at me to get me to do the right thing. Jennifer is an angel and I cant wait to go back to see them for my 6 mo appt. You are making the right decision...insurance approval depends on the company.
