lurker got a date

I have been lurking on these boards since Feb. I haven't really posted much because I didn't feel I should until I had a date and was ready for surgery. Wow!! I can't believe this but my Dr. office called me and said I was approved for surgery and gave me a surgery date of July 6th. OMG! That is only 10 Days away. Boy, I sure don't have much time to let all the emotions get to me. I go to my recheck visit on Friday the 30th and do pre-op on Tuesday or Wednesday next week then Thrusday I have surgery... I can't beleive this is happening I am one that has such bad luck in everything, I just can't beleive it. Insurance approval only took a week. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! I am sure I will be posting a lot more now with all sorts of silly questions. Kim

hi kim. angela d here from winterville. congrats on the date. i am going to turn in my paperwork wed. i hope to hear something the first wk or 2 of july. where are you going to have yours done? 10 days. what happened to the pre op 2 wk diet. what kind of insurance do you have. ? I would like to know. I have medicaid. I heard from several different people that as long as the paperwork is right 10-15 days. I hope it will be the same for me. I will keep you in my thoughts/prayers as long as I can get a few headed my way to get the paperwork done and surgery scheduled. congrats again. let me hear. angela d.

Hi Angela, Good luck on your approval! I have medicaid as well and it only took a week for my approval. I am lucky that my Dr. doesn't require a 2 week pre-op liquid diet. That is why I got the date so soon. As long as you have done your 6 months supervised weight loss visits then everything should go good. That is medicaid's main thing for approval. I will be having my surgery done at Franklin Regional Medical in Luisburg. My Dr is Dr. Moran and Dr. Enochs. I wish you lots of luck on your approval and I will keep you in my thoughts!! Kim

I was the same way as you were. I didn't want to post and I didn't want to attend a meeting until I knew I had been approved. Congratulations on your surgery date

Thanks G, I just knew if I got all hyped up about it all that I would be let down. I am one that hopes for the best but expects the worst. I am jsut so glad I got approved and in 9 days I will be on the losers bench. It is so funny, first time in my life that I am truly happy to be a loser. LOL! Now all I need to do is get my house together, and all the stuf I will need for when I get home and bag packed for hospital. Thanks again and can't wait to sit on the losers bench with ya!! Kim
