Hey guys... I have been doing great and really haven't had any problems. BUT I think I have caught a small summer cold. My nose is running like crazy and I have been having some sinus drainage which my new tummy doesn't like much..(my old one didn't like it much either). Well my question is.. I didn't ask my surgeon what I could take for a cold. I haven't been back for my 2 week follow up yet so I was just wondering what you guys take. I thought some of my NC friends who are part of Dr. Lowe and Dr. Melkonian might know what they recommend. Thanks, Shannon

Hey Shannon, I just went to the Dr. on Friday for what I thought was a cold, and he told me it was allergies. I had the drainage and sore throat and a slight cough, and I felt like crap. They put me on allergra, a nasel spray twice a day and nexum for my stomach. It really does make you feel sick in your tummy. If it gets worse then they will put me on an antiabotic...Hope you feel better soon. Oh yea tylenol for the headache.... Sandi

Thanks Girls, I finally broke down and bought some tylenol cold and feel better. I actually haven't really felt bad I just had tons of crap in my head. I have to go for my 2 week appointment on Thursday and I will ask him about it then if I am still blowing my nose like a freight train. Pat, yep still on liquids and doing pretty good. I have been trying to make sure I get in enough protein but that takes work. I feel really good and will be soooooooooooooo glad to have some cottage cheese or whatever on Thursday night. I hope all of you are doing well and always appreciate your support. Shannon

Hey Shannon, I'm a month post op and I was reading your question and I work at Presbyterian in Charlotte, so I see Dr. Lowe and Dr. Melkonian and I will ask one of them what is something you can take for you cold and let you know. Until then, get some rest and I hope you get to feeling better soon! Brooke
