This is my first post. I have been on here since Christmas reading and learning alot from all of you. I am 35 years old and have two daughters. Since the birth of my 1st child, I have been on a weight loss and weight gain roller coaster. My weight has remained the same the past 6 years. I never saw myself as being obese, I just thought I was a big girl. I started having serious blood pressure problems and I am unable to control it with meds. I get the same thing everytime I go back for a check up. I am told I need to lose some lbs. What kills me is that I have really tried and nothing is happening here! I don't eat junk food and I am not hungry all the time. There are days when I only eat one meal a day due to lack of appetite. I decided that something has to be done. I am tired of taking all this medication and feeling tired all of the time. I didn't realize that I have alot of problems and it stems from my weight until I looked into the WLS. I have been to the class, seen the nutritionist, seen jeff smith and been to my first appt with Dr. Fuzz. Now I am just waiting for an answer. I called Susan at Dr. Fuzz's office a couple of weeks ago but she was still waiting on the report from the nutritionist. I don't want to call back and bug them because I know that they are very busy. I guess I will just keep on waiting patiently. Everyone on this site is truely an inspiration to me. I here of all the things you had a hard time doing before the WLS and all the great things you can do now without problems after the WLS. I am so excited and I can't wait until I can be as healthy as some of you seem to be. Christina

Hi Christina. I am also a patient of Dr. Fuzz and will be having surgery tomorrow. I know it's hard to be patient. If you feel the need to call someone, your best bet is to call Mary Martha and see if she has sent your report to Susan yet. It took her 10 weeks to get mine to Susan (although part of that may have been due to the holidays), but I understand she averages about 6 weeks. If you are past the 6 week mark, go ahead and call her and ask her to give you an estimate as to when she might have your paperwork to Susan. Then you have an idea of how much longer you'll need to be patient. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a quick approval for you! Lisa L.

Hey Christina, I know its hard to wait. But I don't see anything wrong in calling and checking in, because sometimes they do forget or misplace things. If it makes you feel better then call them...It won't hurt anything. Good luck, hope you get good news soon. Take Care. Sandi

Christina, Honey I do know what you mean about the wait but let me tell you, its well worth it. I have been waiting for over a year for my big day. and I crossed over the 10th of this month and so far I am 17lbs down. Just be patient hon it will happen and there will be times you just wanna throw your hands in the air and say the h*ll with it, but dont..... Just take this wait time to get your self used to what you are gonna have to do afterwards. I started drinking protien drinks and getting used to the liquid intake that way when I finally had it I was prepared And all the changes were not a shock to me.. Just keep your head up hon your day will come and you will be so excited.. I am praying for you and your health is right around the corner.

Hi Christina! I know that the waiting is one of the hardest parts of this journey. We go back and forth trying to make up our minds about this life changing, yet major surgery, then when we decide, yes, this is what I need, I will start to ball rolling....it just seems to roll, and roll and roll right out of grasp, how frustrating it can be. I can understand all these feelings. Some people have to wait longer than others. I had my consultation in February 05 and my surgery in August 05, but it just about drove me crazy. I had all these friends in my support group, who had started their journey after me and they were getting approve, what was the deal....all this was racing through my mind, but looking back, I really had it made to so many people. I think the extra time does allow you to prepare yourself both mentally and physically, because this is a major surgery and you have to be prepared to start a new life style. I blabbe on enough, but really don't hesitate to call. That is what thier job is....and they really don't mind, most of them want to help all they can. I have you in my thoughts and prayers! God Bless! Nancy

And you wait and wait and then your getting an IV started before they take ou back and you'llbe thinking "this was all so quick" Best wishes, it will be here before you know it. Start working on you head. Grieving for the loss of our best friend(food) is harder than the surgery Gail

I want to thank all of you for your reply. I know I haven't been waiting as long as some of you has had to wait. This has just been a big decision for me. I tend to worry about the bad things that could happen and I am also worried about how much I am going to have to be selfish and look out for me for a change. I usually take care of everybody but myself. I think I will call the office just to touch base with them. Thanks! Christina
