Needed: Primary Care Dr Asheville Area

Hi all. I've been spending the last few years ignoring myself, but taking care of the rest of my family. Now, I think it's time to get back to caring for me, so I'm in search of a good primary care physician (especially one willing to refer me to a good plastic surgeon LOL). Seriously, I mainly am looking for a Dr. that understands what WLS is and I don't have to explain everything to them. If anyone has a PCP that they love in the Asheville area, please let me know. Oh, I wished I could help Marcy! My PCP is wonderful, although, I don't care for his PA too much. Unfortunately, my doc isn't taking new patients. I would recommend calling Diana Fisher at Mission Hospital. She is in charge of the WLS program there, as well as having had the surgery herself. She might be able to recommend someone for you! I too have hot flashes lately. It is bad at night only. I wake up and I am wet--like really wet and my covers. I have to change clothes and underewear. What is up with that?? I am 40 this year so it could be that age thing. I have kidney problems lately so it could be that too. Wellbutrin is good for sex drive. It is given to men to take about 4 hours before sex. Try it you might like it!! lol Jane

Hi Marcy, Don't know if my PCP is accepting new patients or not, but I love her...she has been most supportive of my WLS surgery and her nurse is the best ever!! Give her a try if you want...it's a little ways from you, she is in Arden...her name is Dr. Carol Kaufman, she's at Arden Family Health on Hendersonville Rd. The phone number there is 684-9229. There are several doctors in the practice...I have seen some of them and can give you my opinion on the ones I have seen if they try to give you to someone else if Dr Kaufman isn't taking new pts.
