Dr. Fernandez with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center

Has anyone met with or familiar with Dr. Adolpho Fernandez with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center?

He just did my surgery on 3/21/06. I love him! He is everything you would want in a surgeon. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and did alot of research before my surgery. I was very fortunate to have such a skilled surgeon so close to where I live! Is there something specific you would like to know about him? Tamara 3/21/06

I have been researching this surgery for a long time. I was curious how long it took from meeting with him initially until you had the surgery? How many surgeries has he performed? Does he appear to be approachable?

Dr. Fuzz is extremely approachable--in fact, he attends all of our WLS group meetings which we have once every month. It takes about 4 months to get all your visits and approvals done before your surgery. First you need to contact Susan and she will send you a packet to fill out. She will then set up your appt with her and Dr. Fuzz....then Psych...then Nutritionist. All their reports will be combined and sent in to your insurance carrier for approval. Once you have been approved--a surgery date will be set. It is very worth all of it!! You can also get this information at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centers website. Good luck and God Bless! Hi Kelli! Dr. Fernandez & his staff are fantastic. He did my surgery on 7-6-04. I originally started with a doctor in Raleigh & then a group of surgeons here in Greensboro started doing the surgery. But thanks to this website, I found out about Dr. Fernandez & I am so glad that I did. I feel that I made the best decision that I could for me.
