Greenville Doctors
Hi all. I have a question. We are relatively new to the Greenville area and I am in need of a primary care/family type doctor. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them in Greenville/Winterville. It is important to me that they be familiar/friendly with Gastric Bypass and that they be "fat friendly" for lack of a better term. It would be nice to fine one that can weigh large sized people. I will call my surgeon's office today for recommendations as well, but I would like to hear first hand experience if possible. Thanks.

My name is Nelle. I wanted to respond to your posting concerning pcps in Greenville, NC. Personally, I go to ECU Family Practice on Moye Blvd. and my doctor is Dr. Magdelena Brooks. She is great. I have been going to Family Practice now going on 3 years. I was first assigned to another doctor who was instrumental in detecting my uterine cancer and pushing to have it taken cared of early. I thank him for that but as for being "fat friendly" and listening to my other problems, I didn't feel he was. I requested a change of doctors and was blessed with Dr. Brooks.
She is fantastic. I immediately got the reassured feeling that she was there to listen, not judge and to do whatever she needed to do to help me. She has been very involved and supportive with me in my gastric bypass process. In fact, she was the one who suggested it to me as an option. She didn't push me into it but she was supportive in that she has done everything asked of her to help with the process. She is great. I couldn't ask for a better doctor. In fact, all of the doctors I have come in contact with thru ECU and Brody School of Medicine have been great in different ways. So, there you have my first hand experience for what it's worth.
