My daughter would up getting several things she needed and I came home with 1 pair of nike sneakers which will be worn exclusively at the gym. I have some type of pain in my heel and arch. I attributed it to the disc herniations I've been treated for in my back but it just hurts on the bottom of my foot. Normally you can get cortizone but post bypass I was told by the drs office this stuff is not allowed. I might call and ortho peadic, but what I want is a home rememdy. We went to Old Navy - I give up on them. Kohl's, everything I liked needed to be in an 18 and I couldn't justify it, My stomach is still pretty sore and I think it's swollen. It took me about 6 months to lose that surgey swelling and pressure after I delivered princess girl. ANother had thing is I have two incisions on the bellly button line and this is where my pants rest. We looked at the mall and feel short there. Can anyone on here fit in jeans comfortably over your incision sites? So tonight, I've been down. Down about not being able to get some new clothes while the old ones are about to fall off. So I went to the yoga exercise pants area and I found a few things that fit in size L. I have not been a size large in a long time. They fit they are not loose and baggie like I like them so my new body is ready to break out. I also got a few tee's in extra large. I'm gonna get on a roll soon. It felt good buying this stuff. Well, I gotta go to bed, I need to work tomorrow unless the funkies that my daughter had infect me and I pray they don't. I've been off work more then I've been back over the past 3 weeks and I haven't been off for anycomplications for myself. Good night... I am tired and bummed at how hard shopping is going to become. I actually have to look and try on stuff. I'm not used to this. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer...I have no clue is your pain was the same pain that I had, but I thought that I would inform you in case. Several years ago my heels began to hurt, and eventually it spread to the whole bottom of my foot. It hurt worse when I would get out of the bed in the mornings or when I would stand after sitting for awhile. It was a sharp burning pain. My PCP had me take a cox-2 drug, like vioxx for about 1 week. The pain magically went away and has never returned. Since then I've talked with several people suffering from the same type of pain that I had and the cox-2 drugs worked for them as well. Never hurts to ask!

Hi Jennifer. I am sorry about your shopping trip, I hope you have more success in the future. I did want to address your foot pain. It sounds an awful lot like plantar faciitis (sp?). I got diagnosed with that about a year ago. My doctor gave me a sheet of some stretching exercises for the plantar facia, which is the tendon stretching between the ball of your foot and your heel, in other words the bottom of your foot. Also, she had me buy a heel cup to be worn in my tennis shoes. I chose a gel insert, which really made a difference. Finally, I was advised to wear my tennis shoes everywhere until it got better, which it eventually did. It only took a couple of months of this for the pain to totally disappear. I hope this helps. ~Ellen

I can relate. Jennifer, I am now almost 4 months pre-op and I can wear things with a band across my incision. The button to my jeans can hurt a little, but it does get better. I'm having trouble justifying buying too much. I was lucky though and had been down this losing road before and I did not give away everything in hopes of getting back into them. I was able to finally fit in a pair of jeans I had had before. I've also had pain in my heel, but had it well before my surgery. It's called plantars facitis(sp?). I had to go to a foot doctor and have inserts made for my shoes. Also, had to sleep in a night splint. Although I hated it, I'm glad I did it. I was in tremendous pain. The weightloss has helped that as well. Don't get discouraged. I know how you feel.

I am sorry for your shopping trip . . . but you still have gone down a lot . . you have to remember that. I am not sure this will help but when I had my breast surgery, I was advised to take vitamin C because it promotes healing. You might want to try that. I am going to begin taking it prior to my WLS which I hope to have in May. I hope this (s) Phenom
