State OH meeting

OK, it definitely needs to be in Charlotte...I've heard from a total of 28 people now and all but 5 say Charlotte. So, since I'm in Wilmington, I'd love to have some suggestions on where in Charlotte. Do we want just a meeting room? is there a church that might let us use their fellowship hall? Do we want a restaurant? what kind would best suit a crowd of WLS'ers? Help me out!! Thanks!

Hey Pam, I would think that it would all depend on how many people are going to attend, what is going to be included as part of the meeting, length of meeting and if those coming from out of town will be staying overnight. I have a good relationship with the Sheraton here in Charlotte or if it is going to be small meeting we could probably use the hospital meeting room or at the YMCA here. Good morning, What date are we looking at? My hubby just told me that his brother from New York is going to be in Charlotte on April 22 and 23. So, I know I will be there then. Pam, Sorry to horn in on different subject but saw you here and wanted to ask if Jax meetings are still 1st Monday of each month. I was sick last month and dh had eye surgery month before. I went to one meeting about 3 months back...don't know if you remember me but I was trying to get everything done for surgery. Well, I'm approved and my date is 4th of April. So if you still have the meetings on 1st monday of each month that will be the day before my surgery!!!!WIERD....but I would love to go, it would make a VERY long night shorter. Diane

Charlotte would be a great place to have the state OH meeting. I will make some enquiries as to see if I can find anywhere in Charlotte. There maybe a cost involved which is usual for a conference room, but who would object to anything up to $10 per head? Not me or my wife - Pug Mom D. Gavin.

I am up for anything. Jeffrey seems to have a few good ideas, but as GD says, I wouldn't mind a couple of bucks to help on rent either. Maybe if we went to Sheraton as Jeffrey(sp?) {sorry} suggested, we could do a light lunch??? Whatever is decided on is good to me. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone! Sorry to intrude, but do you have to have already had the surgery to attend the meeting? I am extremely interested in attending, if welcome. It would be awesome to meet others and talk face to face about what I could/should/would experience. Thanks, Glendie Jacobs
