Support Group information???

Hello, I am in the pre-operative stage, waiting for insurance to probably deny and then begin that fight. I have read that it is beneficial to attend support groups even before you have surgery. Is there some place to find a support group near me?? I live in Salisbury. I really don't want to go through all of this alone. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kelli

Hey Kelli. There is a support group in Winston Salem that is comprised of pre and post ops from Dr. Fuzz Fernandez and they welcome people who are just learning about the surgery too. The meetings are the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm. I know Winston is probably about an hour from you (I lived in Salisbury several years ago). If you want more info, just send me an email. There is a support group in Concord at NorthEast medical Center. I see that you are one of Dr. B's patients. Call Diane Stout (the nutritionist with his office) She can tell you the time & date of the next meeting.
