Clothing Swaps

Has anybody ever organized a local clothing swap in Charlotte and the surrounding areas? Do any of the support groups do clothing swaps? Wanted to see some peoples thoughts about maybe putting something together? When I first moved here 3 years ago I went to a plus-sized indoor yard sale/clothing swap. It was sooooo much fun I walked away with a whole bunch of "new" clothes and got rid of a bunch of clothes that I no longer wanted or that no longer fit.

Hey Jennifer! The Gastonia Support group has been talking about doing this. We meet once a month and I think this would be a good thing to do in our July meeting. I know one of our members told me she had 3 tubs of clothes and I am sure others have some as well. Let me know if you would be interested in joining us next month and I can give you some more information. Nancy

Would love more info - depending on when the meeting is I should be able to make it. I have surgery the 20th so I dont have too many clothes yet.... but I have a lot of winter stuff I know wont fit by winter time!

Hi Jennifer and Nancy, Jennifer, I go to the Gastonia group and they are great. Maybe you could join us???? Nancy, I think this is a GREAT IDEA!!!!! Could we allow more time at the meeting so everyone wouldn't be rushed? I don't have a lot of clothes as I am a new loser, but I have a few. Nancy let me know if I can help in anyway!!!! Pat

Hey Pat! We do not have a set time that we have to be out of there...after all, it is a firestation and they are open 24/7 ....I think it would be fun. I will include this idea in my post before the next meeting. Much Nancy
