Medicare and certification issues
Hi everyone,
I posted a thank you for all your replies to my earlier message. Much appreciated it.
In speaking with a few doctor offices today I found only one that was going for the Medicare required certification "Center of Excellence" for any surgeon who does WLS and want Medicare to pay. I am on permenant disability and just received Medicare after waiting over 2 years to get it! Anyways, in February guidelines changed with Medicare and how it deals with WLS claims. I have my Medicare through Humana Gold and have a call into them for help in locating certified surgeons in the Charlotte area. The only one listed in OH is Dr. B in Concord and he no longer takes Medicare clients.
Although I'm not discouraged I am feeling some sadness tonight in that I have done so much research in the past two or so months and now dealing with another Medicare issue. I live alone except for my dog. Wife died a few years ago. I am blessed to have a wonderful church and pastors who are supportive of me. I am even more blessed knowing no matter what happens next, God loves me and I will someday be there with Him. What a wonderful God!
Great outlook...Please keep the positivie outlook and things will come for you. We are also waiting on our hospital to the "COE" so we can move forward on our Medicare patients. It's great that they now cover the surgery it's just sad they made the change w/ no warning. It just happened.
Stay postive and you know all things happen for a reason so hang in there!!!
