Hi, new and asking about Dasher and Walsh

Greetings, I have an appointment to go to a clinic to hear about MGB with Dr Dasher and he works with Dr Walsh. Regional in Highpoint. ANyone use them? Any opinions on them? I am about 430 lbs, 41 years old. 6'1" tall. BMI is 58. Brother and his girlfriend had the Ruex en y and are thrilled. MGB appears better to me. Having to pay cash. No insurance. Would appreciate any feedback. Does anyone know ANY person *****grets the surgery? David in Pittsboro NC

David, I researched MGB because a friend of mine had it, but in order to get it you have to have a PCP that has been your dr for at least a year sign off on it, and my doctor said he would only sign off on RNY. So to keep from having to switch PCPs and then waiting a year, I went with lap RNY and I have had no problems. I, too , paid cash and the RNY was about $6K more than MGB, but I begged and borrowed to get it all together. I don't know of ANYONE *****grets having WLS. Pam in Wilmington 5'2" 282/168/145

david, i have a friend who had mgb in high point but not sure if dr. dasher was her surgeon. i do know that she paid out of pocket because he didnt accept insurance. it probably was the same doctor. my friend is doing great and has had no problems. she had her gall bladder taken out a yr after surgery though. i got a very dumb question though. what is the difference between both the mgb and rny. adrienne

Hello David, I do not know the doctors you have asked about but... I self paid for my RNY and I have no regrests. I have lost 76 pounds in 11 weekd and I feel wonderful , I have had no problems at all . My surgeron worked great with my PCP doc and I am a new woman. Good Luck Allison
