2nd Level Appeal Question

I filed a 2nd level appeal this week with my insurance company (BCBS of NC- Blue Advantage) and they sent me letter stating they received the appeal and my appeal would be going before a board to review. They stated I could attend or not. I will wait and see where it is held before I decide. Has anyone else been through this? I was denied this go around because they said my BMI was not in their range. They went by the wrong height so I addressed this in my appeal and that should be straightened out. Any help or input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!!!

wow, I haven't been through this yet, but I've done a lot of reading and only seen 1 person denied by BCBS, so hopefully after the height issue is resolved your approval will be soon!!

I went thru the same thing. I did not attend the meeting (mine was 3rd level that they did the external review) and I was approved! woo hoo. they should be sending you a letter with the day and time. I received the response in the mail 2 days after the meeting. I had the incorrect height which I had to appeal as well as not meeting their BMI requirements. When it went to the external review I had my PCP and OBGYN write letters on my behalf because they were both behind me. I also included some brief medical histories of family members to show my pre-disposition to conditions that obestiy would only increase my chances. hope this helps!
