I really have got to get in to see a dietician because my one appt after (with dietician) my surgery, was cancelled and I am having a reaaallllyyy hard time knowing what to eat. I feel like I never eat meals, just protein bars, fruit or yogurt. Is this ok or enough? I actually have started getting sick from everything I eat, as far as the nausea and feeling really bad, so I am scared to eat. I go back to the dr. on the 12th so I will see how my labs were and if Im getting enough of what I need. Im not eating bad, but I don't feel like im doing a good job when it comes to eating. Can we eat anything (to a point)? Every time I read what someone ate, it all seems so hi tec and difficult. I have lost about 65lbs and I know I need to increase my exercise. I have had a bad ankle sprain, and it is still giving me trouble especially standing at work for 8 hours so by the time Im done, I can't make it to gym for being in so much pain. Anyway, does anyone go to any of the support groups at preysb. hosp.? If not, I may try to make it to the one in Gastonia, cause I could really use some support right now. Well thanks for lending an ear! Lisa

Hi Lisa, I feel like you do, I try to eat right but I feel that I'm limited to what I can eat. I too eat alot of yogurt, cottage cheese, oatmeal. I try to get in as much protein in as I can. I feel like its not enough, I can't eat meat at all, well I might could if I would try harder, but I'd rather not because of how I feel when it dosen't work, you know what I mean. I've had my foot in a cast for almost 3 weeks, so you will still loose weight, I am. I hope you do go to the Gastonia Support Group meeting, there's a lot of really nice people there....Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. Take Care. Sandi

I go to the presby support group. I will be there, along with my dad, at the one on June 19th (the day before my surgery!!!). I am also going to attend the support group at Earthfare (off Johnston Rd & 485 South Charlotte) on Tuesday June 6th. I dont have the info with me, but the dietician I saw for my pre-surgery visit told me how I should be eating (protein first, then veggies - something like that). I believe getting in the required protein is one of the more important things
