TriCare Prime ?

I asked this before, but truthfully, I'm on pins and needles and whatever response I got has been forgotten. I am waiting on my approval letter from TriCare(I checked online status) but my PCM has requested ECU, in Greenville. I am in Havelock and there is a surgeon who is closer on the list of approved people. Who do I call to request a surgeon change to the closer one? Will this take longer or will they automatically change your referral? TIA! Dede

Hi, Is this the first letter your PCP has sent in? If it is then this is just to get you started on your journey, and not approval for surgery. So it will only take a couple of days, or thats all it yook for mine. You will need to call TriCare and request to change Dr. and let them know that the one you want is closer for you. Once you've been through all the stuff you have to do, then your surgeon will send in your package to TriCare and a request for approval for surgery. That also only took a few days for me.
