Hello to All, I wanted to let everyone know I am still around lurking some but have been so busy I am simply not online much but to check emails etc. I would love prayers this morning I am going in for a CT.... due to a possible hernia....... I know they are common after WLS I just really do not want surgery again anytime soon. I also noticed a weird place in one of my breast. I am not sure if it is just from losing so much weight or if it is something to be concerned about. I am going to my PCP on Thursday to follow up about this as well as go over a few other things. I have a very caring surgeon that insures all of his patients are ok and does not play with getting the smallest of our complaints checked out thoroughly. I absolutely trust any call he makes regarding my health. So far so good down to 163 Nakie........... lol yes I had to add that........ Hugs to All Charla

Good Morning Charla Take my advice from the word of experience. A hernia can be your friend after WLS. The hernia if it is not causing any problems at the moment can be used as support of the need for a tummy tuck or panniculectomy when you reach your goal weight. I am going to have a panniculectomy with large abdominal hernia repair soon. Insurance is going to cover it and I am just awaiting my two surgeons office's for the date. I had four surgeries in four months with my rny. I had complications and actually cried over having to have the last two surgeries, but now, I am ready to hop on the table and get this loose, hanging, flabby skin removed as well as having the hernia repaired which looks like a big butt sitting on my stomach. I considered not having it repaired as it doesn't give me any problems except the two large bulges right below my sternum. My PCP said now was the time to do it while I am healthy and before they do cause me problems. The problems occur when the intestines get strangulated (sp) and need emergency surgery. This can be life threatening. So, until you get to goal weight I would hold off on any hernia surgery and document any rashes under your panni with your PCP, etc... I know you will have a great day today. Larry

Good morning! Larry, I had not heard that they approved the tummy tuck! Congrats!!!!! It's looking like something I am going to want to have done. I'm about 30 pounds away from my goal, so I've got a little more work to do before I can think about that. Charla, I'm sorry to hear about your hernia. I found out that I now have gall stones and I totally understand where you are about not wanting surgery. I'm hoping I can hold off my surgery until after summer. I really hate to think that I can't go swimming this summer. I hope you hear good news/ I hope everyone plans to enjoy this beautiful day! Take care! Nancy

Morning... Just wanted to share... I was at my gyn for my yearly physical and he felt a lump in my left breast. He sent me to have a mam and ultra (I am only 29). Had that and it basically came back inconclusive (fibroids), but the letter stated they felt it wasn't cancer. Of course, at the bottom it said there was a 20% chance they could be wrong. I went back to my gyn for another breast check and he would rather play it safe, so he sent me to a surgeon for a consult. The surgeon did a much more thorough breast exam and actually found about 5 lumps. He asked me, "Didn't you say you had lost a lot of weight recently?" So, I told him about the fast loss. He explained that breast tissue is fat ad its lumpy. Whenever you lose quickly, it tends to reposition ans such. I have to have another recheck with the surgeon in 2 1/2 months to be safe, but he is convinced that is what it is. Interesting! Good Luck! Joy -105 5 1/2 months post-op
