Good Morning Adrienne and NC friends, Things are moving slow this morning, I am 1 week post op and doing well. It certainly has been a rollar coaster. Have a call in to the Dr. regarding a really sore throat. I don't know it it is thrush or just a sore throat. I do know it's not from the surgery. Doing well in the transition to full diet. Have tired yougart, applesauce and soup. All did well. FINALLY found something I could drink besides water. I enjoy crystal decaf tea. I have a question, did anyone have diarrhea after surgery? I think I have read this is normal but wanted to hear from you experienced losers!!!!! Have a great day and EVERYONE KEEP POSTING!!! Pat

Hello All, Pat , after a few days my bowels started and yes it was diarrhea type,,, and a strange yellow in color ( please forgive the details ) ... it also stayed that way for several weeks, even now at 9 weeks out I would say 50 percent of the time , it is very lose . I read about the crushed pill , yikes ,I know how hard it is to get sick. I was able to break my pain pills in half and swallow them. About sleeping... my recliner was my best friend. Scales have finally moved again Journey started March 1st ( two weeks liquid diet ) starting weight 312 now I am at 246.0 YEA ..... gone from a size 26 to 18 already. For all the new post opers and the pre people, this surgery is tough but so worth it. Allison

It's afternoon now, but I hope everyone is having a great day! Angela, 4:30 will be here before you know it!!!! Pug Mom, you are SO right on the surgery being worth it! Yesterday I finally made it to Overweight, not Obese! What a wonderful feeling. I'm down from a tight 24 to a 14 and even was able to get on some 12s, but they were a little tight! I'll be 6 months post-op at the end of this month. I've been trying some recipes on the Bariatric Eating website and they are great! Has anyone read the book, Before and After? I highly recommend it. Wish I had read it sooner! Nancy 263/168/140

Hey guys, I read Before and After and I agree with Nancy, it has some good information and some great recipes. My favorite is Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies...use it as a reference and it has answered most all questions. Allison is right, the surgery is a wonderful life-changing event and so worth everything...though I can't complain about any 'side effects'...More problems have disappeared than appeared. Pat, I noticed some diarrhea at first but I haven't had any at all lately...things are pretty normal in that area though I did have to take Milk of Magnesia for a couple of days a couple of weeks ago. I was in the middle of my first stall...possibly the two are connected in some way? I took some before and after (hit the 50 pound mark this weekend) and I'm going to try to post them tonight. I wore the same clothes and was amazed to see the differences...especially the subtle ones. I would definitely recommend doing this. It helps to see how your whole body changes. Have a great night! Jamey
