I've been approved!

I had gotten a letter in the mail today from BCBS and didn't open it right away, I thought it was a letter letting me know I had changed my password on their site. The letter is saying I've been APPROVED!!!!!! I didn't know that Dr. B's office had even turned the information in to insurance. A question: On the letter it has a date of 6/23/2006 to 6/24/2006. Does that mean the dr's office sent in a date with the request to be approved? (because i've not discussed a date with them) pssst: I'm APPROVED!

Hi G! It is great that you have been approved. In answering your question about the dates I can tell you that I also have BCBS PPO and the dates were 5-18-2006 to 5-19-2006 on my letter. For me, those were the correct dates as I'd already had a call from my surgeons office a few days before getting the letter. Sounds like that could be it to me! I am switching between nervousness & excitement for my surgery on Thursday. Tomorrow will be cleaning day so we don't have to worry about anything when I get home. I also plan to go ahead and pack my suitcase for the hospital except for my cpap. I'll add that in the morning of my surgery. My biggest complaint so far is that I will not know what time I have to be at the hospital until 3 p.m. on Wednesday. To me it is inconvenient for my in-laws and niece to know if they need to take off work or not. But in the big picture, I am just happy to be able to have the surgery. I know there are so many people out there fighting their insurance companies for approval. Hopefully you can find out on Monday if that is your date, but don't you wanna frame the approval letter after going through everything to get it??? I know I did!

I work at a surgeons office and when we give a date it's a dummy date. Sometimes it falls on the right time...but not alot of times for us. I hope so for you..that would be great. Congrats on the approval...I know it's so exciting. I know when I got mine in the mail!!!

Maybe I can get in earlier for surgery. :smile: I will find out next week, I will be going in to Dr. B office wednesday to do a test to make sure the H-plyori is gone, some type of breath test (make sure I brush my teeth extra good that day ) You sound like you have a great job. (I'm sure its like all jobs ups and downs) But to know you work for someone that changes a persons life G.

Congrats! I am just coming up to my 6 mos anniversary--Dr. B was my surgeon. He is the best! You are in good hands. The time will go by so fast. Before you know it,you too will be a loser! R. Sperry

You are so welcome...I hope the date is sooner then what is on your paper..and go luck on that H-pylori test. If you took the round of meds you should be good now. Besides being VERY BUSY it is the most rewarding job I have ever had. I love my job...I have been in banking since I was 18 (I am now 32 UGH) but it is so different and seeing my hard work go to something so rewarding it just makes me happy.
