Surgery date scheduled/just a few questions
Hello everyone! I have been reading your profiles and must thank you all for helping me to make such an important decision. I am scheduled for surgery May 19th (which also happens to be my 44th birthday!!)
I appreciate all of you sharing your stories. I am wondering if some of you could please tell me about your favorite protein and vitamins and where to buy them. I want to be ready after surgery.
Thanks again for everything.
for multi-vitamins, I used Centrum chewables for the first couple of months. For biotin, zinc, iron, I've used GNC from the start. I now use regular Centrum instead of chewables.
For protein, I like to mix my own mostly...I use AnyWhey from GNC and mix it with orange Crystal Light. I also like Nectar's Roadside lemonade and Fuzzy Navel mix. I always keep a couple of bottles of Isopure in the fridge for days I oversleep or have early appointments or if I'm traveling. I have Matrix chocolate and I have that maybe once a week.
Hope this helps.
Please plan on exercising the very minute that the doc says it's OK.

Hello Pam,
It is nice to read an email from someone nearby. I live at Ocean Isle Beach, NC
I'm hoping to have the lapband surgery in September. My daughter had the surgery in April, in Mexico. Depending on how well she does will determine if I have the surgery.
I too am 53 years of age. Struggled with my weight since giving birth to my daughter.
I am 5' 3" and weigh 192 lbs. Have gone from a size 6 to a 16 due to chronic pain and unable to exercise. I just keep getting bigger and bigger. I do walk everyday but cannot exercise strenuous enough to help with my weight. I have chronic pain in my whole spine and have a spinal cord stimulator implant.
Do you know of any good doctors in the Wilimington area who do fills for the lapband surgery? A good qualified doctor.
So nice to know someone is nearby...
Carol
Hi Deborah,
I like the roadside lemonade, I also use the Vanilla Whey from GNC. I like the vanilla because I can add a lot different things to make smoothies. There is a list floating around with a lot of different recipes for smoothies.
I will be thinking about you on May 19, Dr Classen is the greatest! You will be a "loser" soon.
Hugs
Hi Deborah.
My favorite multi-vitamin is the Viactive chews. They are like eating a piece of candy (My favorite is chocolate cherry...tastes just like a chocolate covered cherry). You can buy them at Wal-Mart or at CVS and both of those places also carry a store brand if you want to save a little money.
Favorite Calcium is also the Viactive chews for the same reason as above and can be found at the same places.
Favorite protein drink is called Apple Nectar Extasy and I get it from vitalady.com. To me, it tastes like a green apple jolly rancher. If you go to the website, you can order samples sizes of different flavors for $1.99 each.
