Had surgery yesterday. I've been in so much pain since then. Having to stay an extra night at the hospital. Still no regrets but hoping to feel better soon.

Catherine McCain was so easy to talk to. I had my first two appointments with her back in February. I go in for surgery on May 9th and am looking forward to my next two appointments with her. She has a wealth of information, and explains it to you in ways that anyone can understand.
Just to keep you updated, I've finished all my pre op requirements, have signed my consent forms, and have a surgery date to be sleeved on May 9th. So all in all from referral to sleeve it will have been a year and a half for me being on "the list."
Once I was contacted by Dr. Boisvert's office everything moved very quickly.
November 2014 I was put on the list for both Boisvert and Beausoleil.
March 2015 I went to the George Dumont in Monton for a scope down the throat.
December 2015 I received my information package, filled out my patient assessment and returned it to his office.
February 2016 I had two appointments with my nutritionist. Completed mandatory 2 week liquid diet.
March I had my initial consultation with Dr. Boisvert. He wanted a repeat of my scope, and that was performed later in March.
April 12th was my second and last consultation appointment where I signed my consent forms and received my surgery date of May 9th.
Have you had your surgery yet? How did it go?
Thanks! So excited to be on this journey! But daydreaming of yummy food I can't have right now...
Congratulations!! Pre op is a challenge for sure. Wishing you all the best with your surgery and a speedy recovery. :)
One week of shakes/bars done. Can wait to be done and have the surgery! Surgery scheduled on April 19th with Beausoleil.
So, I had to go an have another scope done. This time it was done here at the DECH, and Dr. Boisvert was the one doing the scope himself. That happened on March 22, and I go in to his office this Tuesday (April 12th) for my last appointment and to sign my consent forms. I will have a surgery date when I leave. I was told that booking a surgery date might be 1-2 months out. But who cares, I'll have a date, and I'll know, and can start making the last preparations. So from initial referral to consent form signing for me was 1 year 5 months. So exciting!
I waited 5 years for my phone call from Bathurst. My referral went in April 2010 and I got my call June 2015. I was to meet with Dr.Semerjian next month but has been cancelled. He is moving so now I have to wait for the new surgeon and they are not sure when that will be. They said I may not meet with the new surgeon till maybe October. So bummed with waiting longer :(
My doc finally got around to sending my referal to Dr. Boisvert after almost 5 months of waiting. At 25 years old, 6ft tall and hovering around 400 lbs with little to no serious health conditions, I am praying that I look like an ideal candidate to him! Of course his secretary said 4-7 years, but based on all of your posts I am really hoping it will be 2 or less. Lets just hope there hasn't been a significant increase in referals this past year!!
