I had my info session in October 2014. Signed my papers with dr b in February 2015. Surgery in April 2015. It moved pretty quickly for me. I was originally referred to the Dumont in sept 2012. It depends on your health and reasons for the surgery how quickly it goes. I wanted to have children and wa****ting my 30s so they pushed me through. Since you have to wait 18-24 month after your surgery to start trying.
I think it must be determined by the questions that I had to answer. How much you eat and exercise, and the reasons for being overweight. Also, whether there are any health issues that would put the person at risk having the bypass which is a longer surgery. I totally agree with what you say that it is a tool for weight loss, and not a quick fix.
I had the sleeve myself so can't really comment on the bypass. Monique, the nurse at the hospital, told me Dr. Thériault does more bypass that sleeves. Everyone's situation is different and I would ask the doctor why she prefers one surgery over the other. Both surgeries are great however I believe long term success is based on the work the patient puts in.

Has anyone had the Gastric bypass? Dr. Theriault felt that was the best option for me. Would love some information.
She did not want to give me a time. Probably because she was just getting started here in Moncton. How long did it take your sister to go for her full day of class after her initial appointment?
It took almost two years from initial appointment until surgery in Moncton for my sister who had her sleeve on September 2nd with Dr. Theriault. Now that she's helping with the caseload, I would expect this would be cut in half if not sooner but that's strictly a guess. I take it you didn't ask about this at your August 25th appointment?

I would say a year or less. Good luck :)

Don't get discouraged. I really tried to put the surgery out of my head and just focus on not putting on any weight. It will probably go much faster now that they have two doctors doing the surgery.
