Topic: RE: Atkins or Low-Carb Curious?
Hi,

The MGB is a very powerful surgery and the creator of this procedure does not encourage dieting.  The surgery does the "diet".  We are encouraged to learn about good food choices and eat health and if needed get added support in regards to emotional triggers or other issues that may be present from their past.  I had the MGB 10 1/2 years ago and I can personally say this surgery works.

Good luck in your journey to better health.  I am sure you will get a good many folks in your group.

Topic: Atkins or Low-Carb Curious?
Hi everybody!

New Group! -- http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/atkins/

We will be discussing low-carb / high-protein / Paleolithic / high-fat / Atkins eating programs!

Several OH members have posted questions or comments about the Atkins program, and also about high-protein, or low carb, or high-fat dieting.  Some people are interested in trying it to lose weight, or to refine their weight-loss, or just get carb cravings or blood-sugar under control.

This new group will provide information and support for those who would like to try this way of eating.

Even though I had WLS three years ago, and am thoroughly pleased with my Roux-en-Y, it has become necessary to get my sugary-foods cravings under control.  I still dump like a Mack truck, but have found other carbs slipping unhealthfully into my eating, and dearly wish to lose a little more weight.

So -- I'm "doing" Atkins again (it was effective for me in the past).  If you are also researching this way of eating, come give the new group a shot!

Any takers?
Interested in low-carb nutrition?  Thinking of trying Atkins? Want to try high-fat and/or high-protein eating?  Whether or not you have had (or are thinking about) WLS   http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/atkins/

I am so happy everything went well for you.  Keep us posted on how it's going.  Take care of yourself and don't forget salt.  That will help keep you hydrated.

About

Welcome to a new online support group for men who have had or are considering plastic - reconstructive surgery after weight loss surgery.  It's hard for men researching this topic to find others in the same boat.

I have created this group to help those looking for information and photos from other men who have gone before them seeking surgery for excess skin removal etc.

Had my MGB in Belgium on december 10 and im back home, drain is out and im off pian killers. Surgery was 35 minutes, and went great. My incisions are teeny tiny and wont be too bad. Ive lost 8 lbs to far...getting in about 100 calories (70-100) a day and as much water as i can handle. My peepee was dark orange so  I had to make my main focus on getting in my water. Havent went potty yet...which is kinda scary, but ill go to my GP by friday if I dont "do the deed by then" Im getting in lots of walking...which really really helps you feel better.

Also my momma got me hooked on a website called sparkpeople. my husband is addicted to it now. u can put in everything u ate and it shows the nitritional facts. pretty cool actually. but I still love my OH and think you guys are just the greatest.

thank you so much for all ur support and happy thought and love and prayers! Im looking forward to this road ahead of me!!

Topic: RE: Has anyone used Rogain for women?
Hi there! I under stand! I had my surgery march 17 2003 and when my hair started circling the drain I freaked out! My hair was long black and curly  and was falling out all over mainly on the top and the front edges so what I did was buy a good draw string ponytail! They are inexpensive and their are different lengths and you can go stright to a little curly. At first I was a little afriad of people staring at me but I got over that real quick! For me it was either people stairing at my bald spot or looking at me like wow! there goes one fine confident woman! Oh and I used hair gel to slick down the sides and the edges a good protien one and you can go to just about anywhere to get a drawstring ponytail and just remember to use bobby pins to hold it in place. But eventually your hair will stop falling out. A friend om mine who also had it done uses probiotics Hair Skin and Nail vitamins and her hair is nice and thick and I use them too and I swear by them! Rogain......I didnt bother
